The vignette: A typical story
The Vignette is a tab located under the map, which shows you a typical story behind the map.
It’s great to see the map, but it’s good also not to forget the stories behind it.
The app selects for you a story like this:
Pick a source which has a lot of links in the current map and a lot of statements in the current map. Sources which have a lot of statements overall are also penalised a little in this selection.
Then from the links which this source contributes to the current map, pick seven links which are both frequently mentioned by all the sources combined and which are not too long, and order them approximately left-to-right, starting with “drivers” and working to “outcomes”.
